The artworks by Love Terins and Pearla Pigao on display at DIGS create a visual dialogue between organic and structural elements, reflecting nature’s form, movement, and harmony.
Pearla Pigao combines music and textile art to explore the relationship between sound and material. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally, including at the National Museum, Helsinki Contemporary, and Charlottenborg Kunst Hall. Pigaos works have been acquired by prominent institutions such as the National Museum, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Kiasma.
"I as an other" is her first screen print, created at Fellesverkstedet in Oslo, is based on a sound file. By converting sound into an image, she captures a unique pattern that defines the design of her textiles. This technique originated by accident when she mistakenly opened a sound file as an image in Photoshop.
Love Terins is a graduate of the Oslo Academy of Fine Arts. In her paintings, she explores repetition and contrasts. She has already held several solo exhibitions and her works have been acquired by Norges Bank, Christen Sveaas, and Kunst på Arbeidsplassen.
This is the first time the vibrant and relevant artist Love Terins is working with screen printing. Love wanted to challenge the format while creating something recognizable that fits her artistic expression. "I have worked with a collage-like thought and work process, using the shapes in the screen print and elements from previous paintings and sketches. I allowed ideas and forms to be duplicated, inverted, and transformed to explore and alter the motifs."
