Oslo Open 2024 April 27. -28.
How does an artist work? What is an atelier? On April 27-28, you can explore these questions firsthand by visiting artists in their workspaces during Oslo Open. Atelie has been collaborating with Oslo Open for many years to bring art closer to the public. This weekend there will also be several events at our gallery space in Via Vika!
On Sunday April 28th from 12.00 to 17.00 the talented artist Trond Hugo Haugen will host a popup art studio in our gallery in Via Vika, open for visits. He’ll be showcasing parts of the artwork “UPP ENDELAUST” from his last exhibition along with various other works in progress.
Saturday and Sunday 12.00 to 16.00 Lars Gangdal will keep his exhibition "Vingespenn" open in our new popup gallery space next door.
Oslo Open allows public access to over 400 artist studios across the city, providing a glimpse into the creative processes behind their works, and a unique opportunity to see art in its place of creation. The event promotes exploration of local neighborhoods through guided and self-directed tours, enhancing attendees' understanding of where and how artists work.
Atelie's app has become a practical tool for attendees. It facilitates the viewing of open studios, planning of visits, and direct purchasing of artwork from artists. This collaboration between Atelie and Oslo Open aims to make art more accessible and interactive for a wider audience.
The event spans two days, with studios on the east side of Akerselva opening on Saturday and those on the west on Sunday. The program includes workshops, demonstrations, and tours designed to deepen public engagement with art. Oslo Open is committed to accessibility, offering detailed information to ensure the event is inclusive.
Additionally, Oslo Open hosts an international visitor program that brings together art professionals from around the world to engage with Oslo’s art scene, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This element of the festival facilitates global cultural exchange and dialogue.
For further details and to plan your visit, you can visit osloopen.no and follow the event on social media. This weekend offers an opportunity to engage with both art and technology in a setting that celebrates Oslo’s cultural landscape.
