Several of the wines imported by Noras Vinimport have received high praise in Norway, such as their rosé from Chabiant, which was awarded a top score of 6/6 by VG’s wine reviewer, and their white wine that impressed the reviewer of Dagens Neringsliv.
Azerbaijan has been producing wine for over 6000 years, but it wasn’t until the 1860s, when German immigrants settled in the region, that modern winemaking practices began to take shape. In the early 2000s, Azerbaijan undertook a major transformation of its vineyards, enlisting European wine experts to cultivate both international and traditional local grape varieties. These local grapes, once used for sweet wines, have now been skillfully transformed into dry, modern wines that reflect contemporary tastes.
“With a winemaking tradition deeply rooted in the culture of Azerbaijan, the country has developed an exciting range of wines from grape varieties that have been meticulously cultivated and refined over millennia. For us, it all started with the Meysari winery, which produces world-class organic wines from vineyards in the Shamakhi region. In 2024, we expanded our portfolio with partnerships from renowned wineries such as Chabiant, Savalan, and Azgranata,” says Cecilie Hassing, CEO of Noras Vinimport.
This is your chance to taste these highly acclaimed wines, perfectly paired with a curated food selection, all within the creative atmosphere of Atelie’s art-filled space.
As an extra highlight, cocktails made with pomegranate wine – an innovative new product now available at Vinmonopolet – will be served throughout the evening.
