How do I proceed when purchasing art on Atelier?
For many, purchasing art is a journey of personal growth. It can be intricate and time-consuming. A guiding principle when buying art is to trust your instincts and buy what resonates with you emotionally. Here are a few tips on how to use Atelie:
1. Discover Art and Artists: When exploring art, you can sort and filter by techniques and price, search for artists, and save what you like in favorites. You can also see where the artists' studios are located on the map.
2. Contact the Artist: Once you've found an artwork you're interested in, we recommend contacting the artist using the messaging function to inquire about the artwork’s availability and arrange delivery. Most artists appreciate visits if you wish to see the artwork before purchasing it.
3. Purchase the Artwork: Once you've entered your payment details and the purchase is completed, you'll receive a receipt via email. We use Stripe's payment solution, which is both simple and secure. Remember to arrange pick-up or delivery directly with the artist.
4.Arranging Delivery: Coordinate directly with the artist regarding shipping or pickup of the artwork. Please note, Atelie isn't responsible for any claims post-purchase. Any issues should be addressed directly between the artist and the buyer.

Can I visit an artist's studio?
Absolutely! Most artists appreciate visits. You'll find an overview of the art studios on the mapp. Use our messaging service to schedule a studio visit directly with the artist.
What payment method does Atelie use?
We use Stripe to handle our payment solution. Accepted cards include VISA, Mastercard, and American Express.
For artworks from artists in Norway priced over 2000 kr, a 5% art tax is added to the total. This fee supports artists and copyright holders through collective and individual schemes. Learn more at kunstavgiften.no.
How secure is my transaction?
All transactions are secured using Stripe's payment solution, ensuring your information is protected. Stripe is a PCI Service Provider Level 1, which is the highest grade of payment processing security.
Can I return an artwork if I'm not satisfied?
Please communicate directly with the artist regarding any returns or exchanges. The return policy may vary from artist to artist, so we recommend discussing the terms before completing the purchase.
How is the authenticity of the artwork verified?
Every artist on Atelie is recommended or evaluated by other professional artists to maintain a high quality of art. Additionally, you can directly contact the artists and visit their studios to learn more about the artworks.
Do I need an account to purchase art on Atelie?
Yes, creating an account allows you to communicate with artists, save your favorite artworks, and streamline the purchasing process.
Can I commission an artist to create a custom artwork?
Absolutely! Many artists on Atelie are open to commissions. Use our messaging service to discuss your ideas directly with the artist. We often assist the artist and customer with contracts and guidance in these projects so we recommend you to get in touch if you're interested in commissioning a work.
