Filler, pine panel Life, like language, folds into itself in order to reproduce and persist. They seem to embrace change, adaptation, and evolution rather than equilibrium and stasis. In much the same way, creativity appears to favour contingency, the unexpected, and the fluctuating over the perpetual and the congruous. And yet, somehow, through this continuous movement of change, they sustain an experience of oneness and distinct unity—a coherent sense of subjectivity that persists despite never remaining the same. Rubber Hose Drawings In these works, I use loops of rubber hose to create imprints in moist filler. The loops are pressed into the surface of the panel and held in place by a raised edge surrounding the format.
