Filler, pine panel The image depicts multiple drawings of identical crosses intertwined. I use the cross as a symbol of death. Sudden, simultaneous deaths caused by external forces—disasters, massacres, wars, and genocide—bind people together in long-lasting, even generational, grief and trauma. This affects not only those directly involved, but also bystanders, both near and distant. Its shadow does not easily fade; in fact, it threatens to grow over time. The void of futility exerts a dangerous gravitational pull, one that cannot be escaped by individuals alone. This gap can only be truly closed through the collective effort of a unified humanity. The Entangled Reality series consists of works made with a device that allows me to draw multiple lines at once. It creates what might be described as a polyoptic image.
