Treverk is an ongoing series of installations based on audio recordings of minuscule movements in trees. Bioelectrical signals from some of the installations trees controls and shapes the soundmaterial in the gallery space. Surface transducers have been attached to the stems, allowing the sound to be affected by the wood in real time, making the trees integral parts of the installations speakers. The trees used in the Treverk-series were already cut or had broken as a result of heavy winds, snow or wood rot, before Blattmann started working with them.
