The drawing takes its pulse from Mordab مرداب, the river’s journey that begins with longing and ends in stillness. In this work, the river transforms into a circle, a loop of endless return. The once flowing current becomes enclosed within itself, bound by love’s persistence and sorrow.

the Ensom family is part of a new collection called House Viewing exploring the feeling of belonging and the idea of home. These themes grow naturally through my choice of materials and the slow, repetitive gestures of making. The figures in the painting live together without defined gender, sexuality, or clothing, reflecting the shared, everyday experience of creating a sense of home.
