As an artist, my work probes the cultural lifestyle and community-based art of communities in the Kassena Nankana West Districts with a focus on Sirigu wall paintings. Also, one’s life as a collection of memories and events. Where I explore the spiritual and cultural connection of the animal motifs, colours, and patterns. Similarly, the nostalgic element that exists within the Adresseavisen newspaper after its use to invoke the memories of my audience to the content of the newspaper. Looking at conversations between the past and present, diverse material cultural practices through appropriation.
Employing techniques such as drawing, abstraction, composition, stitching, and predominantly photographic image transfer on handmade paper-mâché produced out of Addressaviese newspaper. Informing my two and three-dimensional photographic print techniques, which take the forms of a costume molded on the body or imprints on the facades of an architectural structure or as two-dimensional print work, to call to mind messages of sustainability, cross-cultural diversity, and inclusivity.
