It also introduces a critical reflection on the contemporary societal attitude of "The people who eat melons" – a Chinese term symbolizing the passive onlookers in society who remain indifferent and uninvolved in pressing issues. At the center, a pit threatens to engulf penguins within it, with clouds transforming into snow, symbolizing environmental catastrophe. While the protagonist penguin – "Ma Liang" – is depicted crafting an enormous ladder to rescue those trapped, the surrounding penguins represent a spectrum of societal responses: from those attempting to aid, to whisperers on the sidelines, and the indifferent bystanders merely observing.
