ARTIST COLLABORATION 2021

Atelier select artists that will create an exclusive silk print edition for the art club’s members. The membership fee will pay for the print.

Atelier has found three artist for the members to choose from. Members will vote and democratically decided which artist to collaborate with to create the exclusive print edition. Members will receive updates throughout the process, to create more insight and understanding about the work. Atelier will host a vernissage in May/June, where the finished artwork will be presented and editions handed over to the members.

The selected artists for the first round are:

Anders Kjellesvik (b. 1980)

Anders is a painter and photographer, but also devotes part of his artistry to long journeys and art production in the public sphere. His photogravures (method of printing high quality images using photographic and etching techniques) and silkscreen prints are based on photographic material that reflect both self-experienced and imaginary places and expeditions. Anders Kjellesvik is educated at Bergen Art Academy, Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki and and the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen. In addition to a number of gallery exhibitions, Kjellesvik’s works have been exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris and several biennales around the world

Solveig Bergene (b. 1985)
Solveig is particularly interested popular science, and the mythologies of alchemy. Her medium is pencil drawing on paper, which varies in size from large – almost wall-to-wall-drawings – to delicate, small formats. Solveig’s works are dynamic and detailed in their expression. She mixes figurative and abstract elements and join them together by geometrical and symmetrical patterns. The figurative motifs are often animals, plants, and other things from nature. The complexity of organic forms, elements in nature that have a timelessness that man-made things often do not have, is something that interests her. Solveig holds her MA from Bergen Art Academy. She has exhibited in several private galleries and art-institutions throughout Norway. Among her solo exhibitions are “Portal 2” at Kunstbanken, Hedmark Art Center and “Portal” at Gallery Vulkan, Oslo.

Linn Horntvedt (b. 1984)
Linn works thematically with the motion of landscapes. Nature's cycles and human intervention in the landscape is something that interest her. Linn studies specific constituents of natural and cultural landscapes, structures or forms that tell individual stories that help form a whole. Her work method is process-oriented, where she explores materials and surfaces, content, and shapes. Linn holds her BA from The Academy of Arts in Tromsø and a BA in art history from the University of Bergen. Her work has been exhibited at institutions like Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo, Small Projects in Tromsø, Sandefjord Kunstforening, Grafill in Oslo, Kunstnerforbundet in Oslo and Konsthall C in Stockholm.
