Romsås Tower Art Fair

Atelie x GalleryLab stages an art fair in Romsås that reorients the format through context and access. Since all artists in the Romsås Tower have been carefully vetted, all artists are invited to take part.

Register here to participate (deadline May 13)

Affordable Art, off the wall and floor.

By inviting artists to apply directly, the project shifts attention toward artistic agency and the conditions under which art is encountered. The fair is understood here as an evolving structure: one that can be displaced, recalibrated, and opened to other relations between artists, audiences, and place.

The exhibition connects the artists in the tower with the local neighborhood and new art buyers. To lower the threshold for first-time collectors, every artwork is priced at 5,000 NOK or less.

When someone buys a piece, they take it home with them on the spot. The project group then replaces the sold work with a new one from storage.

About this collaboration

GalleryLab, Ferd and Atelie all work to make art more accessible to people who don't usually walk into galleries.

An exhibition with up to ninety-three contributors, mobile checkout, automatic payouts to each artist, and inventory tracking needs infrastructure wich Atelie currently offers.

Atelie is launching Atelie Studio this week which include a set of new management and sales tools built for professional artists.

Atelie Studio is built around two ideas: handle the practical side of running a practice so you spend less time on admin, and give you the tools to grow your sales over time.

Participants in the fair get 30 days included:

- Professional profile with bio, CV, and portfolio

- Artwork listings with Stripe and Vipps checkout

- Built-in CRM for collectors and enquiries

- Payment links and invoicing

- Broadcasts to followers and contacts

- Exhibitions on the public Atelie map

- Certificates of authenticity

When the exhibition closes, every participating artist can decide to continue using Atelie for managing artistry, or and cancel the subrciption at any time. Atelie also has a free version.

  4. Send an e-mail with the URLs of the uploaded artworks to hello@atelie.art
  5. Deliver your works at GalleryLab 14–16 May 12.00 - 16.00
  6. Buyers can explore and buy the artworks by scanning a QR-code, phone and pay via card, pay later og split payment with Klarna
  7. Atelie takes a flat 15% commission on sales. The remaining 85% is automatically routed to your linked account trough Stripe.

FAQ

Is there a jury?

No. Every artist with a studio in the tower is invited.

Who can participate?

Anyone renting a studio in Romsås Tower above the gallery. One registration per artist.

How many works can I submit?

Up to three. Fewer is fine.

Is the free month of Atelie Studio actually free?

Yes. One month. You decide whether to continue afterwards.

Can I price a work below 5,000 NOK?

Yes. The 5,000 NOK figure is a ceiling, not a target. Price the work at whatever you think it's worth, beneath that.

Can I show sculpture or larger works?

Yes, depending on the piece and the space. The gallery is a plywood labyrinth, so floor and plinth space is limited. Email Ghazaal Nasiri with photos and dimensions before registering ghazaal@gallerylab.no

What about fragile or unframed pieces?

Get in touch first. Works on paper need to be framed. Unstretched canvas, ceramics, glass, all possible in principle, but only with prior agreement.

How does payment work?

A QR code that links to a ditial works list checkout page with card or Klarna. The buyer pays on their phone. Atelie handles the transaction, marks the work sold, and transfers the payout to you. Commission is 15%.

What about BKH (the Norwegian artist fee)?

BKH is 5% on sales over 2,000 NOK, and is taken care of by Atelie.

Can I edit my submission after registering?

Yes, until 11 May. After that, listings are locked for print and signage.

I already have an Atelie account — what changes?

Nothing. Sign in, register for the fair, and upload the works you want included. Your existing profile continues as it is.

What happens to unsold works?

You collect them at GalleryLab between 15 and 17 June, by booked slot.
