An early defining artwork of mine, made using a method of combining found objects which has become a key element of my work. The axe and the rake, combined into a single object, play with the cartoonish association of stepping on a garden tool and having it smash into your face. However light hearted at first glance, the work contains a wry extistentialism.
Different versions of the sculpture have been exhibited in a number of places, among other: Kunsthall Stavanger, Shiryaevo International Biennale of Contemporary Art, The National Museum of Contemporary Arts in Moscow, and Kümmelholmen Konsthall.
